With renewed focus we are going to do better to keep you updated on the latest happenings here at HT as well as bring some of our own thoughts and reflections on faith!
April 19, 2019 All is quiet in the church at the moment. Being there as it is set for the Passion is so powerful, so moving.
April 18, 2019 Holy Thursday is the day we begin the Triduum. I know for me the day has felt "different." The sanctuary is quiet now and the air carries a weight of expectation. The church will remain open after Mass for adoration until 9pm.
April 16, 2019 It was refreshing to hear Fr. Dan talk about last night's penance service this morning. When the pastor says that it was a great service and that all of the priests who were here to help out were happy to see it, it's a great Holy Week.
April 10th, 2019 This Friday evening at 6:30pm, as the day turns to night, the sanctuary will fill candles and music and people as we turn our attention to a contemporary reflection of the Stations of the Cross. Although the church will be full to the brim, the quiet meditation entwined with songs so relevant to today elevate the experience to a unique and deeply moving plateau, compelling all to embrace the silent moments for deeper reflection. Even those who have never participated in the way of the cross find a direct connection to all Christ has endured for us through this particular expression of our Catholic tradition.
April 9, 2019 What a great way to wind down Lent than the homily this past weekend. Instead of focusing so much on punishment for our actions, let's focus on the opportunity we are given to "go and do better." Thank you Father Dan for the redirection of our minds to mirror Christ. That's what confession and absolution give us. Penance Service this Monday night at 7pm here at Holy Trinity.
April 2, 2019 So, it's been a while, but I guess during Lent is the best time to get things back on track. It's so easy to have the best of intentions and to miss the mark when we have road bumps here and there. The more we veer out of the way, the harder it can be to get back to where we should be going. Much like our reading this past weekend, God is there, looking down the road, just waiting to welcome us home. Join us this Friday, April 5th at 6:30pm as the children of Holy Trinity lead us in the Stations of the Cross!!
March 9, 2018 We are halfway through the 40 days of Lent. As we get ever closer to Holy Week, my focus is more and more centered on the fact that God loves me so much that He sent His son here to experience what life is like for me, to truly know the "human condition" that Fr. Dan refers to so often, and to suffer and die so that I might live. If God can see enough good in me to do all that, why should I not see that too? Do you see that in yourself because you absolutely should....I do!
